Scandalous company. I was ordering for my son and my mom.

I made my son's order using an email link sent to me from Nutrisystem giving me 41% off and once it put me in the system at the top of the page it said if I type in SAVE50 at checkout I get an extra %50.00 off. So I did it and at check out it gave me my grand total to be charged which included the 41% off AND the $50.00 off. It all looked correct so I went ahead and pressed submit. Then I started on my mom's order.

Well, I also had a referral code for this order. So I started a chat with a rep. to see if I could use both the referral code and the SAVE50 code. Well long story short, because of chatting with this rep.

and having issues with getting this order to work like the one I had just placed for my son, it was discovered by the rep that the system charged me MORE money AFTER I hit the submit. So basically I thought I was paying $312 but after submitting the order it charged me $368. That was for my son's order so she asked me to submit my moms and I did and the system did the same thing! Showed me my grand total but then after I agreed and hit submit it charged us more money!!

So the rep. decided it was because you can't double up on coupons and special offers. I told her that is fine if that is their policy but it is never okay to tell the customer that the company is taking out a certain amount of money but then charging MORE after the submit button is pressed without ever asking the customer if this is okay or alerting them! The rep.

never once acted surprised and the only offer she could give me was to credit the difference on my NEXT order. What if they ended up not liking it and didn't make a "next order"???? This is a form of bait and switch. So I got transferred to customer service and the rep.

would not even comment on my complaint of bait and switch and only pushed for an order cancelation which of course I canceled. What a company. A good company would act horrified and would apologize and maybe even offer a better discount or at least honor the one I thought I was getting. I lost ALL trust in this company and if you do use them?

Watch your money CAREFULLY! Be very sure they aren't taking MORE money from you hit that submit button. Check your credit card statements even if you aren't good at that.

As for me, I'm just going to search for another program for my family. I wasted a whole lot of time on this company only to learn they are not honest.

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Preferred solution: Get honest. Don't bait with offers then switch after payment is approved. That can't even be fully legal. Thank goodness my circumstances caused me to realize because I'm not good about checking my credit card statements to be sure I've been charged right.
