Reviews and Complaints
Impossible to cancel account
This company uses extreme tactics to block you from canceling your account. They make it as hard as possible and do everything they can to stop you.
-Need to call an impossible to find number and wait 20-40 min to speak to someone instead of just selecting cancel on the web site.
-Need to call _twice_ to cancel if you have not received your 2nd shipment. They will NOT process a cancelation request otherwise. This means you get to spend another 20-40 min on hold again a month later.
-Once you get to that point, the operator will use every trick in the book to block you from canceling. Ignore your request. Change the subject. Continually ask questions. Pretend they can't hear you. I mean _everything_. Plan on taking the afternoon off. [Twice]
I highly recommend simply getting the bank to issue you a credit card number. That would be easier than trying to deal with Nutrisystem reps when trying to cancel their horrible, mostly salt service.

NutriSystem
I paid for Nutrisystem, bought into their advertisements, that "Lose 10 pounds in the first month or your money back, Guaranteed!" I did not lose 10 pounds in the first month, asked for my money back, and was told I could not get my money back, since I was on the program for 3 months, and had they said that I had to tell them in the FIRST month that I had not lost 10 pounds.I only asked for the one month. I paid for 3 months( a lot of money) and didn't lose more than 6 pounds.
That's a lot of money!!! Nutrisystem, is in my opinion, and from my experience, a scam. They don't stipulate in their advertisements that you must tell them in the FIRST month if you don't lose. That's false advertising, in my opinion.
Somebody is making a lot of money off of those who want to lose weight and are vulnerable.I'd like to know how much they paid "Marie" who, in my opinion, may have had a personal trainer? Just my opinion and experience.

What have you done to your pizza. It used to be my favorite now the crust is like trying to eat rubber there is no sauce and hard to find toppings.
Why would you change one of your most popular item.
Before I place my order for next month I will call to see if you changed back if not I will most likely quit your program. PLEASE go back to the other pizza's.
BAD BUSINESS
TRIED TO CANCEL NUTRISYSTEM WITH 14 DAYS BECAUSE IT GAVE ME A BELLY ACHE, THE GUY TOLD ME TO JUST DELAY BECAUSE IT WOULD BE BETTER IN CASE I WANTED A LA CARTE.. PLUS HE SAID TRY FOR A MONTH THEN YOU CAN CANCEL ANYTIME!!
HE JUST WOULDN'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER..NEVER DID HE SAY THERE WAS A 100.00 CANCELLATION FEE!
NOW I HAVE BEEN JUST INFORMED THAT THEY WILL IMPOSE THE FEE IN TRYING TO CANCEL.
JUST REALLY BAD FOOD AND BAD BUSINESS..I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW! NOW I HAVE TO MAKE AN ORDER FOR 80.00 AND THEN CANCEL AFTER I HAVE RECEIVED IT..THAT IS THE CHEAPEST ORDER!
Preferred solution: Full refund
Nutrisystem Misleading and read the fine print before you order
After reading their fine print and a couple of other complaints I phoned their customer service to try to get a refund. Because it was within the 15 day return period Nutrisystem were cordial and agreed to refund my money in full.
I have been told that I'll receive fund...
After 10 days I hadn't lost anything so with the thought that this is another scam and if I didn't cancel before a specified time I'd have to pay another month then suffer their Nutrisystem for another month. Therefore I phoned in and cancelled my order.
In summary the food is OK and their customer service is good however their cancellation policy should be considered a "Soprano's" scheme to steal money from the vulnerable.
It costs another $99.00 to cancel.
Buyer be ware!!

Unwanted and not requested emails
As I have stated so many times to Nutrisystem and now to your company, I have requested, then demanded that the unasked for and unwanted emails stop. I was told at each contact with them that I would no longer receive them and to date am still receiving them almost...
I have asked nicely and then not so nicely but to no avail. They tell me my email address is not in their system but if this is the case why then am I still receiving emails from them. I don't know what else I can do.
I have never come across such unprofessional behavior before. I explained end that if I was interested in their services I was completely capable of contacting them.

Junk food
will you lose weight? yes.
BUT.......take a look at the ingredients. nothing but chemicals and artificial ingredients. you lose the weight by eating tiny portions. the flavors are awful.
we are a family that maintains a completely organic lifestyle. expensive yes. but ask yourselves why the US has the highest cancer rates in the world. chemical pollution of the food supply.
and no minerals in the growing soil. lack of lithium alone contributes tremendously to chronic mental illness. eat this junk. not ever again.
they don,t tell the prospective buyer the ingredients. you have to order to find out. thy hypnotherapy for weight loss.
works great! screw this scam!

Out Dated
I purchased a 5 day meal box of Nutri-System from Wal-Mart. When I got home I noticed a rebate inside.
One date would have made my rebate out dated. Another little paper insert showed I was still okay to mail in and receive a $10.00 rebate. Then I noticed the expiration date on the outside of the box of Nutri-System. The food was outdated by 3 weeks.
I was turned down for my Nutri-System rebate. Nutri-System blamed Wal-Mart. I called Wal-Mart and was transferred multiple times to be told that the Manager must have missed a few boxes. I said all of the boxes were expired.
I checked them all on the shelf after I purchased 2 boxes of expired out dated boxes of Nutri-System. So if I purchased expired food, why can't I be given an expired rebate? No one wants to take the responsibility for selling out dated Nutri-System food in Wal-Mart. Nobody had an issue taking my $45.00 for outdated food, and no one knows how to fix this.
Like I said. I didn't notice the food was expired at first? We are in a Law Suit era, why make people worry about getting sick from outdated food? This is just bad for business.
Will really have to think about purchasing Nutri-System again.
Wouldn't that be great if a million people felt the same way I do? They'd loose millions.
There are better and cheaper ways to lose weight...
Tried Nutrisystem for a month. The food was OK; the frozen items were particularly uninspiring. - certainly didn't look much like the pictures on the packaging but that is pretty standard.
When I tried to cancel, it was obvious they were making it as difficult as possible; I was bounced back into the system by 2 customer service reps before I reached one who actually agreed to cancel my order. I suspect they get reprimanded if they can't talk you into staying with the plan. I also noted that the prices they quote for their reduced options (such as snacks and lunches only, etc.) are considerably lower than the price they say they will actually bill you.
On the whole, I was not impressed and would neither use them again nor would I recommend them unless you have $500 a month to splurge (not to mention the requirement to augment their food with other items).

Auto mailings - cancellations
Have spent hours on the phone w/ Nutrisystem customer service and legal departmt attempting to get an auto delivery returned and refunded. When you place an order they AUTOMATICALLY set you up for auto deliveries and charges to your credit card.
The auto delivery is in the small print under terms and conditions, and you can't cancel online. There is no online cancellation form or request, you have to call in. All the advertisements are for 30 day trial and there is nothing that spells out what you are signing up for. In our case we were out of town for 2/5 weeks so the goods sat on our doorstep and went bad.
Additionally, it was obvious to anyone who may be stalking our home that we were out of town. Very misguiding advertisements and very unfriendly to consumers.

Nutrisystem Food Review from Shorewood, Illinois
Nutrisystem Customer Care Review from Wells, Vermont
I tried nutrisystem and did not like most of the food. I called to cancel, they told me I had to order 147.00 worth of food to cancel by end of May.
I called them May 26th and they said a full shipment was just sent out. Now why would they do that when in my account it said I wanted to cancel. I spoke to a supervisor and she said I can only get refunded for the dry foods, not the frozen.
You would think that a big company like that could do much better especially since I dont like the food. It had a lot of salt and preservatives in it and I can do much better cooking myself.
