Food is Terrible and Cancellation Policy is a scam

I ordered the first month Nutrisystem program. It came via fedex in about a week.

The food is awful and I'm not a picky eater. Couldn't stomach the lunches and dinners. They are foul.

Read the fine print - you will have to look hard for it. If you cancel during the first month you have the option of taking the second month's food (another $275 or so), or pay a $100 charge which they say is the discount for the first month. You cannot cancel on line either you have to speak to a representative who will do their very best at talking you into some other plan/ frozen foods/ or delay your next shipment.

Also notice that on their website you cannot write a review.

You can get the same food in your local grocery store for half the price.

Try a calorie counting system like "my fitness pal" available for your smart phone and for free.

Don't do it. Save your money. Try something else.

This company wants $99 just to cancel my auto order which I knew nothing about? I was just hit by a hurricane in Florida and this company is nothing but greed greed greed. You cannot cancel online and must call them to cancel only to get a salesperson trying to sell it back to you. What a joke. If I knew about there auto order or cancelation practice up front, I would have never ordered from them, because I try to stay away from such websites as I have been scammed by them before with them changing the auto order option to yes when I initially set it to no.

Nutrisystems 2016's largest scam

I tried this diet last month and instantly got sick. Every item on the menu is full of added fiber. Metamucil type fiber added at all meals and snacks is now they "fight belly bloat" They make you do a cleanse without telling you to be ready. Ready for the horrible gas and constipation that occurs when you take 10 times the daily dose of these fiber additives. Even the ice cream has fiber blast.

I then experienced the joke that is what they call customer service. They refuse to do any money back on the order. I was 2 days out of the 14 they say. Then they charge a 100. fee that is never discussed in the ads. Then they make you send any unused food back to them for refund. EWWWWWWWWW.

They resell the food. EWWWWWWWWWWW.

They charge you for all frozen food period no refund is allowed. They keep 100, plus a 20 buck return shipping. Then they resell what you return. Check the internet. Cheap food is available. So the money back is at best a 1/2 back right from the minute it arrives. Complete lies to customers. Full money back is NEVER available to any customer ever under this plan.

They never not for a minute ever intend to make a complete refund to anyone ever. That is a completely dishonest game they play. Why would you trust your body and health to a company that acts like this.

Question: How does meatloaf, mashed pot and gravy come in a box that stores in your dry food area? Can you even imagine what is in that "meatloaf" to be dry stored on a shelf.

Run don't walk from this company. I thought I was just 50 and too old for the food, until I called for help. That's when I became convinced that this is a monster scam, in my opinion. None of the operators will identify themselves so you can't complain about them. They have NO supervisors available to talk to. They read a script because they know we all want our money back like they advertised and promised. Not word games and sales tactics to keep you in past the 14 days. In my opinion this is a very sophisticated *** on a national scale. Perfect, if you complain enough then there actually is a supervisor named Pam. She just parroted the *** artist script.

#Marieosmond should be embarrassed she is offiliated with this *** artist company. The only way to stop this type of thing is to make sure everyone knows what they are doing. Tell friends, blog let the world know they lie and point to small print. Just because you can defend it in court does not mean people will let you get away with this. I am going to look up Marie's tritter acct and send her a note of thanks for her lies and indiferance to the truth. She can't possibly be unaware of what this *** is really doing.

All of these packaged foods aren't great the point to them is to stay accountable not over eat and for you not to be hungry but if you're going to complain just make your own food or stay fat

Feel like I'm being stolen from!

Nutri Systems requires payment up front, but I cancelled the plan and I was told they have record of it. But, after several calls to Customer Service and waiting since August 28th when our product was returned, we still do have credits for the plan I tried and my wife's plan, also cancelled. One more week and the BBB gets a complaint from me. I returned the 2 plan product boxed by FedEx using their authorized labels. They show record of receiving the product, but getting our money back causes us to feel like they are not going to honor their guarantee. I' gotten three promised to refund our full purchase price, a small fortune to us, but no money back so far.

Nutrisystem - Moldy cinnamon buns!!!

I purchased Nutrisystem cinnamon buns at Walmart in Hackettstown, NJ in the past week. The expiration date is May 5, 2016.

I ate one in the morning of 1/17/16 and during the day and the next morning (now) have been experiencing intermittent sharp pains in my intestines/stomach and feel somewhat nauseous. I also developed an eye infection in one yesterday requiring antibiotics.

This morning I opened a second package from the same box. From the top the cinnamon bun looked fine, but when I went to remove the drying package under it, noticed in the dim light of my kitchen what I first thought was ink all over the cardboard. I removed the package and then looked at the cake portion of the bun and noticed it was completely covered in mold.

I get my food directly from Nutrisystem & in 2 weeks I’ve have 2 items covered in mold. They’ve given me a total of $15 credit.

I chose the plan because of the simplicity to follow & ease of taking with you anywhere but I’m starting to think you lose the weight because the food s covered in mold & inedible! This is obviously an issue that has not been resolved.

It was very upsetting when it happened to me too. I purchased mine at Walmart. The Nutrisystem rep seemed to think it might be the fault of Walmart (improper storage?), which it may have been.

I have FAITHFULLY been on NS since 8/22/16. Have LOST NO WEIGHT! During a "chat" with Michael on 9/1 he suggested that I haven't lost weight because I didn't have that much to lose (REALLY?). He recommended that I SUPPLEMENT NS food by buying non-NS food to encourage weight loss. WHAT? I called to cancel my second order after 2 weeks, but was told by Stephen that there'd be a $99 charge-back for shipping unless I ordered a second month of their non-performing food. It's now been almost a month w/o ANY weight loss, so I called today (9/9) (chat time wait was over 5 min.) I was told by Yuro and then Isaiah that IF I ordered an additional $199 in food I wouldn't be charged the $99.00 shipping, but there was no way to forgive the shipping. Weight loss guaranteed or your money back IS FALSE ADVERTISING! BTW, less than 10 minutes after I cancelled, I received a charge through Paypal for the $99. NS must need to recoup all of the money they spend on advertising a product they don't stand behind!

I find this reply exceptionally condescending! I READ and UNDERSTOOD the Daily Tracker booklet.

I followed the suggestions AND I DID ADD the additional protein, carbohydrate and vegetable servings each day. I chose NS because I have a friend who, like me, just wanted to drop about 10 pounds, and it worked for her. Further, I liked the fact that I didn’t have to count calories or carbs.

I invested $347.00 in this plan, and I DID want it to work. It just didn’t work for me.

That’s ok. Despite your company’s promise, “Lose up to TEN pounds in the first month or your money back…GUARANTEED,” I’m NOT asking for my money back. I’m only asking that the $99.00 shipping charge be credited back to me. I feel that’s MORE than a fair request.

When I contacted Customer Service by phone on September 9, your rep named Yuro told me that I should have contacted NS within the first two weeks to cancel. I would have then received my money back. That is totally contrary to what Stephen told me when I called on Aug 23 to change the shipping date of my second order. HE told me that I could only cancel after without penalty TWO months.

FURTHER, I did “chat” with Stefano on Aug 26 and again with Michael S. on Sept 1, about not having lost ANY weight. AT NO TIME during the “chat” with either of them did they suggest anything like, “If this isn’t working for you, we can cancel your contract.” Instead, Michael suggested, that “…your activity might be just slightly high for your low calorie diet. (Walking 20 to 30 minutes in 10-15 minute increments.) Here’s a way to fix that…” I’m sure you have the rest of the “chat” on file.

I made the decision to try this diet, and I am responsible for my decision.

I ate the food as directed, stayed in touch with the counselors as suggested and followed their suggestions. Again, I’m NOT asking for a full refund, I just want the $99.00 shipping charge credited back to me.

I think Nutrisystem should now be responsible for their part!

Largest Scam in the Diet World

I am an 80 year old man who found it challenging to sign up for Nutrisystem online and apparently checked the wrong box when given the choice of Automatic Shipping or Month-by-Month. I checked Automatic Shipping because I thought it meant the company would automatically ship this one-month order; instead it apparently meant I had signed up for continuous shipping.

I called Nutrisystem and cancelled and was informed it would cost me $90 to cancel---why?

I called my credit card company immediately, and Nutrisystem was on the line to them charging me $90. I know what it feels like to be an abused system; shame on you Marie Osman!

The reason you are being charged $90 (and I am surprised it is only $90) is because, if you read the facts of the auto-shipping, you MUST complete TWO of your monthly deliveries in order to be able to cancel the program, with no further charge. The reason for this is, nutrisystem gives "free shipping" for auto-shipping.

In order to be considered auto-shipping, you must receive at least 2 shipments. 1 shipment doesn't qualify as auto-shipping, no matter what YOU THOUGHT when you signed up.

Had you signed up for 1 month only, you would have had to pay for your shipping, packaging, and handling, which is the $90 they are charging you, and have EVERY RIGHT to do. Sorry if you don't understand it or agree with it.

Beware. The 28 day plan only includes 24 lunches and dinners. Cheap trick. It is not obvious on the web site that you will be sent less food. In the past 28 days meant 28 days. They are obviously trying to save money and not being honest about it. And you have to supplement the scant food they send you with your own grocery bought food. And they trick you into signing up for automatic delivery or they will charge us more. Don't waste your time. Just buy prepared grocery foods instead. I will not use them ever again. They are dishonest.

Just plain bad customer service

I had gone online because I had some questions about their EZ plan, not being able to shell out the $334 upfront. I was told I had to call the phone number and when I did, I was met with a survey question. I tried to surpass the survey question and then tried to hang up, when I hung up and redialed, it wouldn't let me through! I chatted with customer service online and let them know that this upset me and it made it look like a scam. The service agent gave me another number but that number didn't give me an option to talk with someone! It was only for people who had joined. The service agent apologized and said he would have customer service contact me, but by then I was so annoyed I didn't want to talk with anyone. They called anyway and I was met with a gum smacking, insincere individual who simply stated 'yeah, I heard you wanted to do the EZ plan..' I told him I wasn't interested. What kind of customer service allows people to smack gum over the phone like a cow! Severely unimpressed.

Nutrisystem Is A Ripoff

Food was extremely substandard, Customer service lied to me when called to complain and return food, CS said if not lose 10 lbs and 5 inches in 30 days, I'd get my money back. Lost 8 lbs but kept intake to 1200 calories a day, walked 3 miles a day, and needed to lose 40 lbs.

Just lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks on the old Stilman diet at fourth the price.

They did not make clear I had to re-order; but, cancelled my credit card and stopped it after reading this site and learned of the problem. Boy-will I check online closer next time - TV ads caught me off guard.

I reported Nutrisystem to the Attorney General's office in Pennsylvania because of the scam this company is getting away with and received a letter from the Attorney General, who by the way is now in trouble for lying, that they could do nothing about this company and for me to get my own lawyer and proceed with a lawsuit. The TV ads are all doctored to look appetizing- taste is horrible, makes you sick and the only way your going to loose the weight is by not eating the food. Marie Osmond and all the other actors lost their weight by other means because it wasn't by eating this horrible food. Save you money don't buy the product. A lawsuit needs to be filed against this company so everyone can get restitution.
