We started Nutrisystem in May and for the first few months, i was very satisfied. The food varies from very good to terrible.

Once we settled in, however, we found what we liked and only ordered those items. In the last few months things have gone down hill rapidly. They have discontinued many items with no valid replacements. There are almost no lunch options left that I like.

They sent me substitution items for multiple things in my last order. They substituted something we did order, which would be nice if i didn't already order 8 of the item and they added 8 more. 16 out of 30 dinners for the month are now the exact same thing - who wants to eat the same meal every other day! In addition, they seem to be short on popular items and trying to clear out their inventory of the bad things.

I understand the fine print allows this, and can even accept that on rare occasion they may run out of something, but per online chat groups, they now substitute in most orders. I don't go to the supermarket buy beef and get home to find they have packed chicken in the bag. This is no different. In addition to the real discontinued items, it appears that they are repackaging some items and creating new SKU's, thus making the old ones appear discontinued.

In some cases you can turn around and selected the same item (presumably with the new SKU behind the system).

There is no communication, this is just something you have to figure out.

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Monetary Loss: $40.

Nutrisystem Cons: Deceptive marketing and subsitutions.
